Detailed analysis of the use of silica fume

The use of silica fume has attracted more and more attention in the industrial field. At present, the use of silica fume mainly concentrates on the following aspects:

Silica fume is used in mortar and concrete: reactive powder concrete (RPC), track slab admixture, high-rise buildings, harbour wharf, reservoir dam, water conservancy, culvert, railway, highway, bridge, subway, tunnel, Airport runway, concrete pavement and coal mine roadway anchor shotcrete reinforcement.

2 Silica fume is used in material industry:

(1) The service life of high-grade, high-performance and low-cement refractory castables and prefabricated parts is three times as long as that of ordinary castables, and the refractoriness is increased by about 100 C. The high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance are obviously improved. It has been widely used in coke oven, ironmaking, steelmaking, steel rolling, non-ferrous metals, glass, ceramics and power generation industries.

(3) Self-flowing refractory casting material and dry-wet spraying construction application.

Other uses of silica fume:

(1) Silicate brick raw materials.

Production of sodium silicate.

It can be used as reinforcing material for organic compounds. Because its composition is similar to that of silica produced by gas phase method. It can be used as filling and reinforcing materials in rubber, resin, paint, unsaturated polyester and other macromolecule materials.

(4) Used as anti-caking agent in chemical fertilizer industry.
