Instructions for the Use of Light Thermal Insulation Castables

1. Lightweight insulating castable is suitable for mechanical spraying, pouring or smearing.

2. The light pouring production has been measured accurately according to the proportion. Considering the timeliness of the binder, the light material is packed separately from the binder. The light material is packed in a woven bag with a plastic bag, and the binder is the original packaging. Five bags of light material plus one bag of binder is the smallest batching unit.

3. Transportation and Storage

3.1 Transportation should be based on the distance between the factory and the construction site. Shorter production (within 500 km) can be transported by car, and longer distance can be transported by train.

3.2 Lightweight thermal insulating castables should be placed in places with good drying and ventilation, avoiding direct exposure to strong light or excessive temperature.

4. The best period of validity is four months.

5. Equipment

5.1 Compulsory mixer (manual mixing can be considered in the case of small usage and limited conditions).

5.2 It has complete scattered tools (ruler, plastering knife, shovel, trolley, barrel) and so on.

5.3 Use clean domestic water to ensure normal solidification of castables (PH 6.5 & mdash; 7)

5.4 Rainfall and waterproof measures should be taken in time.

5.5 The site should have complete safety measures.

6. Mixing

6.1 Temperature in construction site is the best at +5-+30 C. If the temperature is too high, cooling measures should be taken, and good thermal insulation measures should be taken in winter construction.

6.2 Clean mixing equipment and other tools, prepare quantitative clean water strictly in accordance with the requirements, water temperature in winter is 15-mdash; 20 C is appropriate, mixer should be placed near water and electricity.

6.3 According to the actual amount of stirring, mix the lightweight material first, then add the binder, dry mix 2-mdash in advance; 3 minutes, make the lightweight material and binder mix evenly, the appearance is basically the same. Then add about 80% of the total water consumption, finally add water according to the slurry drying and wetting process, continue mixing for 3-mdash; 5 minutes, under the conditions of satisfying construction and workability, strictly control the water addition, generally 40-mdash of dry material; 50%, the whole mixing time is controlled at 5-mdash; 8 minutes. The use time of each mixing material shall not exceed 30 minutes, and the amount of water added shall be adjusted reasonably according to the construction location and mode.

7. Construction

In construction pouring, the thickness of over 100 mm can be formed by manual tamping method. It can be compacted by wooden rods. The supporting formwork part can be constructed. It can also be vibrated by small vibrating rods. However, the vibration time should not be too long to avoid the uneven density caused by the floating of light granular materials. When the thickness is thin, it can be directly smeared by hand, and the water content can be reduced accordingly, so as to prevent collapse or cavitation.

8. Demoulding

Twelve hours after the completion of construction (24 hours in winter) can be demoulded. When demoulding, it is necessary to tap the template gently to prevent the castable and template from being damaged by brutal demoulding. Because of the large water content in the construction of lightweight thermal insulating castable, the construction of wear-resistant refractory layer can be carried out only after natural maintenance (attention to ventilation and dehumidification) for more than two days.
