Self-flowing castables are a new type of refractory material that was developed in the 1990s. This self-flowing material has obvious advantages over ordinary castables. It not only inherits the high density, low fire resistance, erosion resistance and wear resistance of low cement castables, but also does not require vibration equipment to be self-flowing and self-curing. The large-scale blast furnace iron slab self-flow material jointly developed by Zhengzhou Zhongyuan Integrity Refractory General Material Factory, Metallurgical Bureau Luo Naiyuan, Steel Research Institute, Anshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and Wugang Ironmaking Plant has been applied to some large blast furnaces in China to obtain satisfactory results.


 The self-flow material has a fast construction speed and a long service life of the iron groove, which overcomes the defects of slow construction speed, poor quality of the iron groove and short life of the iron groove caused by vibration of the vibration material. At the same time, the self-flowing material will be widely used in other industrial furnaces for its excellent construction performance, such as heating furnace, integral casting of soaking furnace, rotary kiln cooler and burner parts, etc., and its service life is compared with traditional castables. Will double.


 Flowability of the self-flowing material The self-flowing castable is characterized by fluidity after mixing. The self-flow value reflects the self-flow performance of the castable, and it can be measured whether the self-flow material has proper construction performance and stable physical properties. The self-flow value is small, the material flowability is poor, and the dense filling is not achieved during construction; if the self-flow value is too large, serious particle segregation will occur during the construction. Experts believe that the self-flow value should be within 50~100%, and about 80% is the best.
