Its structure is characterized by the formation of some ceramic bonding between refractory materials by high temperature firing, and the filling of carbon materials between refractory particles or in pores.Although there are some bonded carbon films in the fired aluminum carbon slide plate and immersion nozzle refractory products, the main bonding form is ceramic bonding, which belongs to ceramic bonded carbon composite refractory.Carbon - bonded refractories and ceramic - bonded refractories are essential differences.

The former belongs to non-burning refractory, and its production process is generally to mix the binder and coarse particles evenly, so that the binder on the surface of coarse particles to form a layer of film, and then add refractory powder and graphite, mixed evenly after forming.After heat treatment, the resin used as the binder is cured to form a cured resin frame that combines the refractory material roughly with the graphite.After carbonization of the product, the resin framework is carbonized to become a carbon framework, obviously, the continuity and strength of the carbon framework has a great impact on the properties of the product.
